Health Sciences Centre adult emergency was temporarily closed after fire sprinklers were set off flooding portions of the unit.
According to shared health the adult emergency was closed to new patients, except stroke or trauma patients, and some people were diverted to other facilities in Winnipeg for about an hour while crews worked to clean up the area.
The emergency department reopened later in the morning and is once again accepting new patients.
