In the early hours of Sunday, September 8, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a fire at a two-storey house in the 400 block of Burrows Avenue. The call came in at 12:27 a.m., and upon arrival, crews were met with heavy black smoke billowing from the residence.
Firefighters initially tackled the blaze from the outside, managing to knock down some of the flames before making their way inside to fully extinguish the fire. The situation was brought under control by 1:21 a.m.
A thorough search of the house revealed no occupants, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and damage estimates have yet to be determined.
