Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a garage fire at 3:06 am on Friday December 8, 2023 in the 500 block of Langside Street.

When crews arrived on scene they saw that the fire had spread to the vacant two-and-a-half storey house. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from both structures which caused firefighters to launch a defensive attack as it was not safe to enter either building.

The fire was declared under control at 4:37 am.

When the fire was out crews entered the house to look for occupants, none were found.

In injuries were reported.

The house and garage are considered a complete loss.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
