Police are investigating a homicide after a 31-year-old male was shot at a home in the 500 block of Alexander Avenue on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

Officers were called to the residence around 10:30 am for the report of a shooting. When they arrived they located a male suffering a gunshot wound and provided emergency medical care until paramedics arrived. The male was taken to hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Aaron Ashton McKay of Winnipeg. Police say they believe there was a gathering at the residence when McKay was shot.

No arrests have been made at this time but homicide detectives continue to investigate.
