HOMICIDE | POLICE UPGRADE CHARGES AGAINST TWO ACCUSED IN DEATH OF GARNET WALTER WILLIAMS

 

 

 

Charges upgraded to murder

 

 

As News4 told you – On August 10, 2016, around 8:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to the 400 block of McGee Street for the report of a body being found.

ARREST | POLICE NAB THREE MORE PEOPLE IN THE HOMICIDE ON MCGEE
 
Garnet Walter WILLIAMS, 43 from Winnipeg was found dead when they arrived. 

During the investigation police determined that on July 31, 2016, Williams, went to a suite located in the 600 block of Ellice Avenue with a small group of people. A dispute erupted and Williams was seriously assaulted by a number of people.
   
He sustained critical injuries and was confined for a period of time. After several days after Williams died  of his injuries his body was dumped inside a nearby garbage container.
   
On August 26, 2016, Police arrested and charged the following people for their alleged involvement.
   
Jeremy Lee ALLEN, 27 from Winnipeg was charged with 1st Degree Murder 
   
Miranda LECLAIRE – and Lyle Barrow were charged with Manslaughter

Due to the continuing investigation police rearrested Miranda Nancy LECLAIRE, 32 and Lyle BARROW, 30 and upgraded their charges to 1st Degree Murder.
   
Jennifer Kelly HALL, 25 from Winnipeg and Ernest GARBUTT,  56 from Winnipeg were previously arrested and charged with Indignity to a Human Body for their alleged involvement.
