At approximately 1:10 am, the Dakota Ojibway Police Service (DOPS) responded to a call for assistance at Birdtail Sioux First Nation, approximately 335km north west of Winnipeg.
Upon arrival, a male was found dead and DOPS contacted the RCMP for assistance in the investigation.
RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services attended the scene.
Police believe that the death is suspicious and the investigation is ongoing.
