Winnipeg Police are investigating a homicide after a male was brought into hospital with a gunshot wound early Tuesday morning in critical condition.
The victim died from his injuries shortly after arriving in hospital and has been identified as 28-year-old Brandon David Thomas Richard of St. Norbert.
The WPS Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and located a scene in the 1600 block of Burrows Avenue. Investigators believe Richard was shot in the early morning hours prior to being dropped off at hospital around 4:00 am.
The investigation has been turned over to the Homicide Unit and they are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact investigators at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 768-8477.
