Police arrest three in Christmas day killing

Winnipeg Homicide investigators have arrested three people in the killing of 26-year-old Tyler Evan Smoke on December 25, 2018.

It happened just after 7:00 am in the 400 block of Victor Street. Smoke had been attacked and robbed by several people. When police arrived they found him suffering from serious upper body injuries. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but died soon afterwards because of his injuries.

Police arrested three male suspects February 27 and February 28, 2019.

David Joseph Merasty, 25, Keenan Alexander Tom, 25, and Michael Anthony Caribou, 28have all been charged with Second Degree Murder for their alleged involvement in the slaying.

All three suspects were detained in custody.
