Winnipeg Police have two males in custody after a 19-year-old male was shot during a home invasion in the Maples on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
According to police a number of people were seen entering a home around 10:40 pm in the 400 block of Adsu Drive. Soon afterwards gunshots were heard from inside the residence.
When officers arrived they found the victim unconscious after being shot several times. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded too stable.
Investigators arrested two suspects at different homes in the Maples on Monday, October 14, 2019.
Police say that one of the suspects was wearing two sets of body armour when he was arrested by investigators.
Investigators also executed two search warrants and seized nine firearms and 1,200 rounds of ammunition.
Jaycee Ryan Danielson, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with: Point Firearm , Use Firearm During Commission of Offence , Careless Use of Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Armed Robbery Using Firearm, Aggravated Assault, Possess Weapon, Possess Loaded Prohibited Weapon and Discharge Firearm with Intent.
James Cole Richard, a 24-year-old male of the Lake St. Martin area, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Point Firearm, Use Firearm During Commission of Offence, Careless Use of Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Armed Robbery Using Firearm, Aggravated Assault, Possess Prohibited Device, Possess Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possess Loaded Prohibited Weapon, Possess Body Armour without Valid Permit x 2 , Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2 and Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2.
Both suspects were detained in custody.
