Winnipeg Police have arrested two men in their 20s after a home invasion late Tuesday night, January 15, 2019.
According to investigators, a number of suspects forced their way into a home in the 200
Police say that at this point one of the suspects approached a female in her 20s and her daughter with a hatchet in his hand and threatened to assault the mother.
The suspect then stole a number of item from inside the home before fleeing.
Police located the suspects at a home in the 500
Brandon David Thomas Richard, 25 and Jarrett Michael Stevens, 22 have been charged with a number of offences for their alleged involvement including:
- Break Enter & Commit Robbery – Dwelling House- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of a Weapon (x3)- Assault with a Weapon (x6)
- Pointing a Firearm- Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3) (Stevens faces a 4th count)
The third person removed from the College Avenue home was released without any charges being laid.
Both accused were detained in custody.
