Man forces way inside home of elderly woman, assaults and robs her

In the late afternoon on Tuesday October 17, 2016 Winnipeg Police received a report of a robbery that had occurred on Victoria Avenue West.

The 70 year old home owner had answered a knock on her front door. When she answered it a male forced his way into the home. He assaulted the victim stole a small amount of cash then fled on foot before police arrived.

The victim did not require medical attention for her injuries.

Police say that the suspect is aboriginal in appearance, 18 to 20 year old male, heavy build weighing about 250 pounds. He stood 5’8″ to 5’10” in height. He was wearing a black sweater/hoodie, long dark shorts, a black toque and red/black high-top running shoes.
