RCMP have identified the victim in a fatal hit and run near Thompson on Friday March 22, 2019.
Solomon McDonald, 41 from Nelson House was found on Provincial Road 391 deceased in the early morning hours. Police say that McDonald had been hit by a vehicle that left the scene.
“Solomon was a father of ten, with seven children under the age of 12. His children, his parents and his spouse are all grieving this tragedy. We believe someone witnessed the vehicle hitting Solomon or may have information about what happened the night of March 22, 2019” said Cpl. Julie Courchaine of the Manitoba RCMP. “We are urging anyone with information to come forward and speak with the RCMP.”
RCMP say that Provincial Road 391 will be closed on March 28, 2019 between 2:45 and 4:15 for a vigil organized by the family.
