Highway 75 collision claims two lives on Sunday afternoon

RCMP are investigating a collision that claimed the lives of two teens on Sunday afternoon, August 8, 2021.

In an email to News 4, police say that a semi-truck hit a car at the intersection of Provincial Road 305 and Highway 75 just after 1:00 pm. It appears the vehicle that was struck as it crossed over the highway and rolled several times ending up in the median.

The 17-year-old female driver of the vehicle and a 15-year-old female passenger, both from Roseau River were pronounced dead at the scene.

Northbound traffic was detoured for several hours as RCMP investigated and processed the scene.

RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist are working with members from St. Piere-Jolys on the investigation.
