Province issues high wind-effect warning for Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg

Manitoba Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre is warning property owners in the south basin of Lake Manitoba and the shorelines near Gimli and Victoria Beach on Lake Winnipeg of high wind-effect developing.

High winds developing around midnight and lasting until midday Wednesday could increase water levels by as much as five feet due to wind speed and wave action.

Property owners in the area are advised to take precautions.
