HIGH-RISK SEX OFFENDER BEING RELEASED

 

 

Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit (MIHRSOU) warns of release of sex offender

 

 

 

 

 

A convicted sexual offender deemed as a person with a high-risk to re-offend is being released from prison on Tuesday February 7, 2017 in the Winnipeg area.

33 year old Michael Kyle LANGILLE will be released from Stony Mountain Institution after serving a total sentence of two years and four months  for two counts of sexual assault.

Langille is expected to live in Garson, Manitoba northwest of Winnipeg.

Langille has convictions for sexual assault, possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography, utter threats and numerous breaches of probation and recognizance orders.

He has a number of convictions dating back to 2004.

  •  2014 convicted for two counts of sexual assault
  • 2011 convicted for possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography
  • 2004 convicted for sexual assault

Langille has also been convicted numerous times for breaching probation by: consuming methamphetamine, using a computer to access the internet, ordering pornographic movies, and possessing pornographic magazines and movies and a cell phone with a memory card, having contact with a previous victim and failing to participate in counselling as directed by his probation officer.

When he is released he will be subject to a lifetime order which prohibits:

  • going to any public parks, swimming pools, day care centres, school grounds, play grounds or community centres where children under the age of 16 are present or could be present
  • Working in a job or volunteering in a position that involves being in a position of authority over children under 16
  • Using a computer to communicate with anyone under the age of 16.

In addition to the lifetime ban Langille will be subject to a weapons prohibition order.

Although he participated in some treatment programming in the past, LANGILLE is still considered high risk to re-offend in a sexual and/or sexually violent manner.  All females, both adults and children are at risk.
