Police make arrest in Henry Avenue stabbing

Winnipeg Police investigators have arrested and charged a 49-year-old male in connection to a stabbing Tuesday night May 14, 2019 just outside the Salvation Army on Henry Avenue.

Police said at the time that officers had been flagged down and told about a 24-year-old male suffering from stab wounds. Officers performed first aid while they waited for paramedics to arrive. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police believe that the victim and suspect got involved in a dispute that escalated to a physical fight at which pint the victim was stabbed several times. Police say that the two men did not know each other prior to the incident

In the mid afternoon on Wednesday May 15, 2019, police located the suspect in the case in the 100 block of Higgins Avenue.

Dominic Vincent Lariviere from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition and Fail to Comply with Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice.

He was detained in custody.
