Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) say one person was taken to hospital in unstable condition as the result of a stove fire.
Around 9:45 am crews were called to an apartment tower in the 100 block of Hendon Avenue. When they arrived they found a small fire in a stove on the fifth floor.
The fire was contained within minutes and the damage was contained to the suite it originated in.
WFPS says the fire appears to have been accidental due to unattended cooking.
