Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for most of central and southern Manitoba, including the City of Winnipeg until Monday, July 18, 2022.
According to the national forecaster daytime highs are expected to be 30 to 35 degrees and overnight lows of 16 degrees and warmer. Humidity is also expected to play a part in how hot it feels with humid reading forecasted to approach 40.
Extreme Heat can result in heat related illness like heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Watch for the symptoms like: dizziness/fainting; nausea/vomiting; rapid breathing and heartbeat; extreme thirst; decreased urination with unusually dark urine.
It is important to drinks lots of water regularly before you feel thirsty and to do what you can to stay cool.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
