The Public Health Agency of Canada made an announcement Tuesday November 8, 2016 that an employee at the  National Centre for Foreign Animal Disease in Winnipeg may have been accidentally exposed to Ebola Virus.

Official say that the employee was working with a pigs that were infected with Ebola on Monday. In the containment room they noticed a split in the seam of their protective suit.

Officials were quick to point out that there is no risk to the public or any other employees for contracting the deadly disease.

The employee is now in self-isolation and will be monitored for the next 21 days by public health officials.

The employee was offered the experimental vaccine that was successfully used in Africa recently but they did not say is they took the medication or not.
