Two health care aids have been arrested and charged following an investigation into assault allegations from a personal care home in the Sturgeon Heights area.

Police say that they began an investigation in June of 2022, following reports of abuse of residents at the PCH between August 2021 and January 2022. According to the complaint, two health care aids used inappropriate physical actions on different occasions to get five seniors to comply while they performed their daily duties. Police say that non of the residents required medical attention as a result of the assaults.

On September 12, 2022, investigators charged a 49-year-old female with three assault charges for her alleged involvement and a 36-year-old female with two assault charges fro her alleged involvement.

Both accused have been released on undertakings with conditions.
