RCMP are investigating after four people were taken to hospital following a head-on collision on Highway 236 between 81N and 82N

Police say that they were called to the scene around 1:15 pm on Sunday February 23, 2020.

When they arrived they found a 74-year-old male sitting in a red SUV in the southbound lane. The other vehicle, a white SUV, was in the west ditch with a 52-year-old female as well as two female children aged 7 and 6.

The male was taken to hospital in unstable condition. The adult female and the 6-ear old were taken to hospital in stable condition. The 7 year-old female was airlifted to hospital in unstable condition.

Police say that the white SUV was travelling northbound on 236 when it collided head-on with the red SUV that was travelling southbound.

Investigators say that the road conditions at the time of the collision may have played a factor.
