Late Friday night, July 23, 2021, RCMP were called to a head-on collision on Highway 6 about 10 kilometres south of St. Laurent.
As officers arrived they found one vehicle in the ditch and the other sitting in the middle of the highway. Police say both vehicles suffered significant damage to the front-end.
The investigation indicates that a 28-year-old female was travelling southbound when the collision occurred with a northbound vehicle being driven by a 33-year-old female. Both drivers are from Winnipeg. Police believe the collision occurred in the southbound lane.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The northbound driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
RCMP continue to investigate.
