Winnipeg Fire ParamedicService responded to a fire in an apartment building in the first 100 block of Hargrave Street late Monday night, April 19, 2021.
Crews arrived on site around 10:20 pm and discovered smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building. A second alarm was called so that more firefighters and apparatus could be available at the scene.
Most residents in the building had self-evacuated before crews arrived although several residents told News 4 that they have been helped out of the building by firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
