The Manitoba government has released numbers of allegations of sexual harassment, bullying and other misconduct relating to Manitoba civil servant for the 2017 / 2018 fiscal year.
According to government documents, there were 20 allegations of sexual harassment of which 7 were found to be substantiated after an investigation. 105 cases that involved harassment and or bullying with 63 cases substantiated after being looked into.
Misconduct, which is defined as but not limited to attempted fraud, conflict of interest or inappropriate conduct accounted for 351 allegations with 300 being substantiated.
In February, Premier Brian Pallister promised to create new measures that would track and report complaints to ensure a respectful and harassment-free workplace for civil servants and political staff.
Earlier this year several female staff alleged that MLA and former minister Stan Struthers inappropriately groped and tickled them. The women alleged that their complaints were never addressed.
