Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were called to a home in the first 100 block of Hammersmith Road in Whyte Ridge around 1;20 am on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found smoke and flames coming from the building. Crews launched a defensive attack on the outside of the home while also protecting homes on both sides from the fire extending.
The occupants of the house were able to get out before firefighters arrived on the scene.
Crews were eventually able to enter the home to continue fighting the fire, it was declared under control at 2:23 am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
