Midwinter closed for hours as police handle serious incident

What came in as a gun call soon turned into a drug bust Sunday as police responded to a serious incident in the 200 block of Midwinter Avenue.

Police are investigating a serious incident on Midwinter Ave. Midwinter is closed between Brazier and Levi St.

General patrol officers and members of the Tactical Support Team had responded to reports of a man possibly armed with a gun.

Police arrested six people within the suite. Officers found a quantity of methamphetamine, marihuana and replica firearms (bb/pellet guns) which were seized after a warrant was executed.

All six people arrested are facing a number of drug related offences.

Of the six suspects three were remanded in custody and the others released on a promise to appear.
