Executive Policy Committee has voted for the controversial new growth fees and now they are one step closer to reality. Next week full city council gets to have their say but a number of councillors, including Russ Wyatt and Scott Gillingham have said they will vote against the new fee.

Members of the home development industry have made it clear that they will launch a court challenge over any new fees and have also questioned wether the city can legally even impose them under current legislation.
