Grocery stores set aside special hours for seniors and vulnerable people

Several Winnipeg grocery stores have announced special hours for seniors, vulnerable people and those with mobility issues.

CO-OP food stores will be opening one hour earlier every day in order to help reduce the risk for those most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Dakota Foods announced that they will open at 7:00 am every Thursday to allow people most at risk to COVID -19 the opportunity to shop in a store–free environment.

No Frills has adjusted their hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. They will be open at 8:00 am on those days to allow shopping in less crowded stores.

Food Fare is also opening one hour earlier daily for seniors and those at risk.

Sobeys will dedicate the first hour of business at their stores to seniors shopping beginning on Friday March 20, 2020.
