Greyhound to stop services in western Canada at end of October

Greyhound Canada announced on Monday, July 9, 2018, that effective October 31, 2018, it will be ending all services in Western Canada, including Manitoba.

The company says that reduced ridership since 2010 has made the routes no longer viable.

Passenger and freight services are effected on every route from Manitoba to British Columbia except one, the single route between Seattle and Vancouver.

415 people are slated to lose their jobs as the transportation giant shutters operations west of Ontario.

According to Greyhound figures approximately 2 million customers will be affected by the loss.
