Dog stabbed in Grassie area hate crime

Winnipeg Police are investigating another hate crime in Winnipeg after a home in the Grassie area of the city was broken into.

Police were called to the scene just before 6:00 pm on Monday May 13, 2019 after the homeowner reported that messages had been spray painted inside the home and the family dog had been stabbed.

When officers arrived they saw graffiti on the walls that contained hate-related messages. The injured dog was taken to an animal hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

Winnipeg’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating and asks anyone with information that can assist investigators to contact them at 204-986-6219 or call Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
