Medevac flight on route to Churchill crashes

RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating a plane crash in Gillam Wednesday evening, April 24, 2019.

Gilliam is just over 1,000 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

The medevac plane on route from Winnipeg to Churchill made an emergency landing on the frozen lake before coming to rest on land just short of the runway.

The wheels fro m the Super King Air 200 aircraft snapped off the aircraft as it hit land

The two pilot and two flights paramedics on board were not hurt in the crash but were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The investigation continues.
