RCMP arrested a 30-year-old male in connection to an attack on a dog in Garden Hill First Nation on September 28, 2020.
Police say they were called after a male had allegedly walked up to the outside of a residence and without provocation stabbed a dog with a knife. He then assaulted a female who had come outside to confront him.
When officers arrived they were able to locate the suspect and place him into custody.
The dog did not survive its injuries. The female did not require medical attention.
The suspect is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Cruelty to Animals, Assault and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
The investigation continues.
