On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, police executed a firearms search warrant on a home in the 100 block of Cobourg Avenue in Elmwood. Tactical Support Team, Street Crime Unit, Community Support and K-9 officers searched the residence and took a number of people into custody.
Officers seized a loaded .40 calibre handgun, a sawed-off heavily modified firearm of an unknown calibre, .22 calibre, .40 calibre and 9mm ammunition and several pieces of Manitoba Warrior gang clothing and paraphernalia.
Police say the weapons and clothing seized are related to gang activity.

Harvey James Cook, 28 from Winnipeg, has been charged with:
– Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x3)
– Possession of a Weapon (x3)
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2)
– Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
– Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3)
– Highway Traffic Act – Drive while disqualified
Police also arrested a 36-year-old female and a 36-year-old male. Both have been charged with a number of weapons related offences and both were released on a promise to appear in court.
Cook was held in custody.
