Fun and Fabulous Pride Parade Hits Record High

Sweltering temperatures seemed to heat up the party-like atmosphere today as an estimated 10,000 people danced, walked, ran and rode in celebration and support of LGBTQ2S+  rights.

Organizers told a huge crowd about the record-breaking registration number as the parade readied to set out.  For roughly two-and-a-half hours, it wound it’s way from the Legislative building on Broadway, up Memorial Boulevard to Portage Avenue, up Portage to Main Street, and then on to the grounds of the Canadian Human Rights Museum at The Forks.

Highly dance-able music, imaginative and brightly coloured costumes and props added to the festive atmosphere.  Those formally part of the parade were cheered on by hundreds and hundreds of supporters and allies lining every step of the route.

Today’s parade is one of the highlights of Pride season, which also included a rally this morning and a festival over the entire weekend.
