Free Provincial Park Entry July 15-21

In a move to encourage outdoor activities and make the province’s parks more accessible, the Manitoba government has announced a week of free entry to all provincial parks in mid-July. The announcement was made today by Tracey Schmidt, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

“Manitobans cherish their time outdoors during the summer, and we want to ensure that families have every opportunity to enjoy our parks without the burden of park entry fees,” Schmidt said. “By covering park fees for a week, we are making it more affordable for families to plan a visit to our beautiful provincial parks.”

From July 15 to 21, visitors will not need vehicle permits to enter provincial parks. However, nightly camping fees and entrance fees to national parks will still apply. Those wishing to camp in a provincial park can make a reservation through the Parks Reservation Service at www.manitobaparks.com or by calling 1-888-482-2267.

Manitoba’s provincial parks, known for their low entry fees, are set to become even more accessible with this week-long initiative. This move, along with other free park access opportunities throughout the year, is part of a broader effort to ensure cost is not a barrier for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors.

In addition to the free entry week, the Manitoba government has chosen to freeze provincial park fees for this camping season. This decision aims to help more Manitoban families enjoy the province’s parks. “We are committed to making our parks accessible and affordable for all Manitobans,” Schmidt added.
