Free admission to provincial parks will mark the end of summer this long weekend.
From Friday, September 1, 2017, until Monday, September 4, 2017, park vehicle permits are not required to enter a provincial park in Manitoba.
Regular camping fees still apply.
A number of parks will also be providing special interpretive programming this weekend as well such as:
- an amphitheatre presentation on furs and trapping at Birds Hill Provincial Park
- guided tours of historic houses at St. Norbert Provincial Park
- a stargazing party at Spruce Woods Provincial Park with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada
- opportunities to view migrating geese up close at the Alfred Hole Goose Sanctuary in Whiteshell Provincial Park.
