Police find explosive, blank, forged and stolen IDs in Hespeler home

Four men and two women are facing a number of charges related to forgery, possession of explosive device and possession of property obtained by crime after officers found a number of items in a Hespeler Avenue home on Thursday, November 1, 2018.

An investigation by the Major Crimes Unit led to the discovery and seizure of a number of items including what police believe to be a small explosive. Police also seized a laptop and printer, blank identification cards, forged identification cards, stolen identification cards as well as blank cheque templates and a stolen cheque.

 

Christopher Lee Chartrand, 32, John Frank Edwards, 29, Jean-Claude Matthieu LaPierre,  29 and Michael Roderick Allan Paquet, 37 all from Winnipeg were arrested and charged for their alleged involvement. All four males were detained in custody.

Police also arrested a 39-year-old female and a 40-year old female on similar charges for their alleged involvement. They were released from custody on a promise to appear in court.
