RCEMP have arrested two people from Sapotaweyak Cree Nation after three males were stabbed and one other was assaulted in the community.
RCMP say that the incident happened just after midnight on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, when a number of people entered a home and attacked a 30-year-old male. As the assailants fled the residence they attacked a 54-year-old male who was outside a neighbouring home. The group then got into a fight with two males aged 18 and 17 a short distance away.
The 30-year-old male suffered serious injuries and transferred to Winnipeg for treatment. The 54-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries while the two younger victims were taken to hospital, treated then released.
Police believe that the suspects targeted the first residence.
18-year-old Terrance Kematch from Sapotaweyak Cree Nation along with a 17-year-old female from Norway House were arrested and charged forth their alleged involvement.
