Four fires within 36 hours on Bunibonibee Cree Nation under investigation

Oxford House RCMP are investigating, along with members of the Office of the Fire Commissioner, a series of arsons that occurred within a 36 hour period on November 15 and 16, 2021.

Police say that they became aware of the first fire at 2:10 am on Monday. A storage building was destroyed after the fire had fully engulfed the building.

Less than an hour later officers responded to a nearby vehicle fire in the community. The vehicle was a complete loss.

Just over 24 hours later, around 3:35 am, police were called to a structure fire in the community. The occupants were able to get out of the building. The home is a complete loss.

At 6:05 am another structure fire in the community was reported. Firefighters were able get the blaze out before it caused serious damage. No injuries were reported.

The investigation continues.
