Three males and a female are facing drug trafficking charges after police raided two rooms at a business on Pembina Highway on January 9, 2019.
Police say the execution of a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant stemmed from the search of a vehicle on Tuesday, January 8,
As officers were executing the search warrant on Wednesday they saw a male who was known to them leaving the premises and getting into a vehicle. Police followed him to Royse Avenue and Pembina Highway where he picked up a second male. Officers initiated a stop but as they approached the vehicle took off crossing the boulevard.
As the suspects made their way onto Hudson Avenue the passenger jumped out and took off between houses in the 400 block. The driver abandoned the vehicle a short distance away and also tried to evade police by running between houses. He was captured in the 1000 block of Hudson Avenue. Police found he had $950 in cash on him at the time of his arrest.
The passenger was located shortly afterwards on Clarance Avenue. He was in a Jeep with three other occupants. All four were taken into custody. Police found a cell phone and $830 in cash on the second suspect.
The execution of the search warrant on the rooms netted 6 x 1/4 rocks of Crack worth about $120 on the street.
Mulata IBRAHIM, 33 from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking
- Drive Suspended/While Disqualified
Joseph Sunday FRANGI, 26 from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Resist Peace Officer
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Recognizance
- Drive Suspended/While Disqualified
Gideon LIBANOS, 24 from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
Police also charged a 22-year-old female with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
The three males have been detained the female accused was released on a promise to appear in court.
