RCMP are investigating a serious traffic collision after four teens lost their lives and one suffered serious injuries.
Police say that around 10:50 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, a car was travelling northbound on Provincial Road 274 near Gilbert Plains, Manitoba when it failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 5 and hit a semi-trailer travelling eastbound.
Two 17-year-old males and one 18-year-old male, the driver, were pronounced dead at the scene. An 18-year-old female was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. A 15-year-old female was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the semi was not physically injured.
