FOUR ARRESTED IN RANDOM WEEKEND CRIME SPREE

Police have arrested four teens in connection to a series of seemingly random break-ins.

It all began on Canada Day when a vehicle was stolen on Lowen Place. Then on July 4 and 5th a number of vape stores were broken into and a variety of items were stolen. Later in the day on July 5th a 2015 Toyota 4 Runner was stolen from a car dealership in the 2500 block of Pembina Highway.

On July 7th five vehicles were stolen. The thieves broke into Winnipeg Honda and stole three new 2017 vehicles, a Ridgeline, a CRV and a Civic. Both the Ridgeline and CRV were extensively damaged. Later that day 2017 Ford F150 and a Mazda B400 were stolen from around the Markhan Road and Pembina Highway area.

The next day on July 8, 2017 a business was broken into in the 100 block of Rothwell Road but nothing appears to have been taken.

Later Saturday around 2:15 pm Winnipeg Police Tactical Support Team members saw a stolen Toyota 4 Runner travelling in the area of Silverstone Avenue and Tamworth Bay. The officers initiated a high risk traffic stop and took four male teens into custody.

Located on the floor of the Toyota was a Smith and Wesson pellet gun.Police have charged all four male with a number of offences for their alleged involvement in the thefts.
   
John Randall Meadows, 19, from Winnipeg has been charged with Possess Firearm contrary to order, Use imitation Firearm in commission of offence, Possess weapon, Point Firearm, PGOBC under $5000, PGOBC over $5000, Fail to comply with Probation Order
   
Jeremy Enrico Lajoie, 18, from Winnipeg has been charged with, PGOBC under $5000 x 2, PGOBC over $5000, Theft over $5000, Break and Enter with intent, Break and Enter-Theft x 4, Possess identity documents.
   
A 17 -year-old male youth has been charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking, PGOBC over $5000, Theft over $5000 x 2, Break and Enter- Theft x 4, PGOBC under $5000 x 2.
   
A 16-year-old male youth has been charged with, Break and Enter x 2, Theft over $5000, PGOBC over $5000, Dangerous operation of MV, Fail to Comply with condition of Undertaking.
