Winnipeg police responded in force to an apartment block in the 200 block of Fountain Street around 1:30 am on Saturday morning, May 22, 2021, after receiving a report that a male had been assaulted.
The victim was treated on scene by paramedics and then taken to hospital in stable condition.
In an email to News 4 police said that while they were searching for the suspect the investigation led them to the area around Higgins Avenue and Main Street. No arrests have been made.
The victim is not cooperating with investigators and has declined police involvement at this time.
