Winnipeg Police are investigating the death of a female discovered after a fire in a Young Street home as the 32nd homicide of 2021.

Just after 8:30 am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 emergency crews responded to a structure fire in a home in the 500 block. The fire was quickly extinguished but firefighters discovered a deceased female inside the home.

Police believe that foul play was involved in the death and that the fire was set deliberately set.

Police are still in the process of identifying the deceased adult female and are asking anyone with information or video surveillance in the area to contact investigators at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
