Just a couple of weeks after formally resigning his Point Douglas seat in the legislature Kevin Chief has landed a new job.
The Business Council of Manitoba announced on Monday that Chief will fulfill the role a Vice-President of the organization.
Chief will be responsible for a number of things at the Business Council including helping new Canadians and members of Manitoba’s indigenous community increase their participation in the economy.
First elected to the provincial legislature in 2011 and re-elected in 2016 many New Democrats thought Chief could be the leader to replace Greg Selinger. Those thoughts were quashed when Chief announced that he would be resigning so he could spend more time with his family.
