FORKS NOW CHARGING TO USE PARKADE

The parkade at the Forks is no longer free. Effective June 15, 2017 the historic site has slapped a $1 per half hour charge on visitors who use the parking structure near the Canadian Human Rights Museum. If you have a disability permit or are a family with small children one level of the parkade has been reserved for your use.

According to a spokesperson for the forks the surface lot behind the Inn at the Forks and the one by the train cars will remain free.

The decision to charge a fee for the parkade, after 14 years of it being free, was made because of the rising costs of programs at the Forks. According to the spokesperson the money raised from the parkade will be used to improve The Forks.
