Winnipeg Police have a 22-year-old male in custody after he was caught with a sawed-off shotgun and illegal drugs.
Police say that on Monday afternoon, May 6, 2019, officers were in the area of McGee Street following up on an investigation into a window that had been shot out when they noticed a home on Agnes Street that seemed to have had the front door forced in.
As the officers stopped to investigate one of two men in front of the home took off on foot. During the foot pursuit that followed the male pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and tossed it into a yard on St. Mathews Avenue.
When the male was taken into custody officers found a spring-loaded knife along with 1.2 grams of Meth.
Mitchell John Flett, 22 from Winnipeg is facing a number of drug and weapons related offences for his alleged involvement.
