Flood warning issued for parts of the Assiniboine River

Manitoba’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre has issued a flood warning for parts of the Assiniboine River from St. Lazare to Griswold.

The province says that the Shellmouth Dam is being operated to reduce the risk of flooding downstream on the Assiniboine River.

An overland flood warning is still in effect from the Saskatchewan border to PTH 12 and from the U.S. border to PTH 1 and north of PHT 1 between Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg.

A high water advisory was also issued the the Whitehall lakes area as levels on most lakes continue to rise due to rainfall and snow melt.
