Manitoba’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre has issued a flood warning for St. Jean Baptiste, Morris and the areas surrounding both towns. The centre says there is a potential for overland flooding in low lying areas due to rising water levels on the Red River.
A flood watch was issued last week for the Red River between Emerson to the Red River Floodway inlet as river levels continue to rise.
The province notes that a flood warning is issued when river or lake levels are exceeding or are expected to exceed flood stage within the next 24 hours.
