RCMP has arrested and charged five males in connection to a series of thefts in the RM of Argyle.
On April 20, 2021, RCMP says that suspects had entered a garage around 2:00 am in Rock lake, stole a vehicle and fled.
While police were responding to that call they learned that the suspects had entered the garage of a second home in the area and this time stole an ATV.
A police do was brought in and searched the area but was unable to find the suspects.
Later that same day police were able to use the built in tracking system of the first vehicle that was stolen. Police found the vehicle travelling east on Highway 2 in the RM of Victoria. A traffic stop was initiated but the suspects sped off. Officers did nit pursue the vehicle out of concern for public safety.
On April 21, officers tracked the vehicle once more. Around 10:30 pm they found the vehicle in a field off Highway 5 in Glenboro. While police were arresting the suspects one of the male suspects refused to listen to the officer’s commands resulting in Police Service Dog ‘Genie’ being deployed. All five suspects were taken into custody.
Two 18-year-old males along with a 17-year-old male and a 21-year-old male are facing charges for their alleged involvement of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x3 and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
A 23-year-old male is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Resisting Arrest, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
The investigation continues.
